This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

Artist's Description
Saraswati, the melodious lady, was originally a Hindu deity accepted into the Vajrayana Buddhist pantheon. She is the goddess of culture, learning, and arts, particularly music and poetry. As such, she symbolizes wisdom and beauty, particularly in the form of sound. Conferring intelligence and memory, she is also associated with Manjushri, sometimes as his consort. She is named for an ancient river, source of her connection with the fluidity of speech, writing, music, and thought. The animals head mounted on the neck of her veena, a stringed musical instrument, alludes to the swan, her traditional vehicle.

Hai, Leslie Sorry for my ignorance.Thank you for explaining the meaning.Ihave great respect towards Buddhism. Thank you again
Leslie Rinchen-Wongmo
Thank you for your concern, Ramya. I work in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Saraswati has also been adopted into the Buddhist pantheon, as were many Hindu deities. In the adoption and over centuries of practice, some details evolve. I have not changed imagery at will but have worked within the tradition in which I was trained. Saraswati (known also as Yangchenma in Tibetan) is goddess of art, poetry, music, learning, and knowledge also in Buddhist tradition. Sometimes she is also pictured as consort to Manjushri, the buddha of wisdom. Thank you again and best wishes, Leslie

Hi, Leslie This painting titled saraswati ,if its related to hindu godess Saraswathi then u should know that ,she should not be shown half nude, always dressed in white saree, and is carrying veena. We cant change all these things as our will and wish coz each one has its own divine meaning.Take this message positively as godess saraswathi is god of knowledge and art.
